Tracked robotic chassis

AS-30 Mobile Platform

The newest addition to The Machine Lab product line is the AS-30 mobile platform. This platform is the result of a conglomeration of input and ideas from people that are using robots in real life situations. They have gleaned detailed information from groups ranging from NASA sponsored research teams to Law Enforcement and SWAT agencies. They have even built several robots for the U.S. military that are in theater in Iraq right now.
This is a bare bones simple but rugged machine intended to help bring ideas to fruition faster.The trend in mobile robotics is to get the machines as light and compact as possible without limiting their mobility in urban environments. At 30 pounds this platform is designed to be a “Man Portable” workhorse. The machine can easily carry 20 pounds of payload and has plenty of space to be outfitted with cameras, sensors, computers, tools, test equipment, supplies, etc.
The AS-30 has a water resistant aluminum hard anodized chassis. All drive train components are precision machined and all metal with long life ball bearings in critical areas.
This platform comes with 500 counts/rotation, 3-channel quadrature optical encoders

AS-40 Mobile Platform

The trend in mobile robotics is to get the machines as light and compact as possible without limiting their mobility in urban environments. At 40 pounds this platform is is designed to be a “Man Portable” workhorse. The machine can easily carry 30 pounds of payload and has plenty of space to be outfitted with cameras, sensors, computers, tools, test equipment, supplies, etc.
The best feature of this platform is that it can climb stairs. The added length and stair climbing ability allows the MMP-40 to negotiate larger obstacles and to reach deeper into urban environments.
The MMP-40 is has a water resistant aluminum hard anodized chassis. All drive train components are precision machined and all metal with long life ball bearings in critical areas.

Traxster II Robot Kit

is new and improved! The design of the very popular Traxster has been refined to be MUCH easier to assemble, have a more durable coating, and feature more useful holes for sensor mounting.
The Traxster Robot Kit was designed to be used as an indoor educational robotics kit. This readymade platform allows more time for enthusiasts to develop intelligent software (such as vision recognition or localization and mapping).
The Traxster features a very rugged, three-toned powder coated aluminum chassis & drive disks, driven by two DC gear head motors with built in quadrature wheel encoders, running on a set of ABS injection molded tracks. All hardware is either aluminum or stainless steel.
The Traxster can easily maneuver through carpet and other types of flooring, as well as traverse over small obstacles. The Traxster’s skid-steer drive tracks enable it to spin about it’s center.
This is an excellent starter kit, which can grow as the user’s expertise grows. You can start with this kit, and eventually add more powerful components such as a Serializer Robot Controller, an IR Panner, a CMUcam2/2+ Turret, and/or an ICOP eBox-4300.

Advanced Servo 8-Motor controller

allows you to control the position, velocity, and acceleration of up to 8 RC servo motors. It requires a 6-15VDC external power supply; its switching power supply allows the 1061 to efficiently operate from 6 to 15 VDC and can be used with a wide range of batteries.

The 1061 has a high resolution of 125 steps per degree; it measures the power consumption of each servo and its switching regulator protects the motors from overvoltage. It powers servo motors of up to 1.5amps.

The AdvancedServo connects directly to a computer’s USB port.

Robot cage

Especially created for the Lego’s users, this cage allow to make compatible the standard models making servomotors (Futaba S3003) to LEGO mechanisms.
Thanks to it forms which involved the LEGO technical forms, you could quickly and easily adapt it in all your mechanism realisations, needing moving!
Moreover they are compatible between them, so you could easily create a system with several articulations!
Applications
This cage and the “U” (the piece being attached to the alu servo arm) are made in plastic with a rapid prototyping, this set is flexible and solid.
There have a screw/nuts system settle down the in order to extend the servomotor’s axe when we use the “U” or when your mechanical system has need this axe!

The POB-Grip

is modified to hold an infrared distance sensor Sharp (provided the pack).
Take and move objects from your robot’s environment.
The grip is very easy to program because of the POB-EYE servomotors native functions. Develop your own softwares dedicated to your needs.

This pan and tilt assembly

is made using two anodized aluminum servo brackets and two Hitec HS-322 servos, each with a torque rating of 51 oz-in at 6V. The kit comes complete with everything you need to get started. The included Phidgets USB 8-servo controller provides a convenient interface for controlling your servos from a PC.
